This has some very valuable information in it, but ultimately, the "do" part may be critical, and although mentioned, is not, as far as I can see at a quick look, a component of the material. Should not these training sessions be ancillary to seeing patients, surgery etc.? Indeed, should many of the training sessions take place in the setting of actual patient care? It is a bit like learning a language from a book without actually using it in real-life situations. The book seems to point this out at the beginning, but then discusses seminars etc. Nonetheless, I will circulate this to our collaborating centers since many people have no training in education, and of course sessions outside the patient care context must take place, so one might as well learn how to educate more effectively.
